报告摘要

Ultra-fine magnetic nanoparticles (NPs) have attracted much attention in recent years due to their unique magnetic, and other physical, chemical properties. These properties are significant not only from a fundamental point of view, for example, because of their blocking behavior, nanoscale confinement, and nanomagnetism, but also because of their potential use in such applications as high-density data storage, ferrofluids, spin-electronics, molecular imaging nanoprobes, magnetic resonance imaging and magnetically guided drug delivery systems. In the past several years, we have synthesized tens of zero dimensional (0D), 1D and 2D magnetic nanomaterials for various physical and chemical applications. In this work, we mainly present several studies on atomic-level imaging of low-dimensional magnetic materials by means of current state-of-art probe corrected STEM and exploration of their magnetism origins. Theoretical quantitative analysis were further carried out to verify the tight links between the atomic structures with the magnetism origins of these magnetic materials. Our findings should not only enrich the nanomagnetics about the understanding of the magnetism origins of low-dimensional magnetic materials, but also extend more possibilities of designing novel functional magnetic materials for specific applications and developing new types of spintronic devices and magnetic sensors.

 

报告人简介

彭勇,兰州大学萃英特聘教授、萃英学者,博士生导师,兰州大学电镜中心主任。兼任中国电子显微镜学会第十、十一届常务理事、中国低温物理专业委员会等多个学会理事或委员。曾任兰州大学磁学与磁性材料教育部重点实验室常务副主任、西北四省(甘青宁新)电子显微镜学会理事长,英国Salford大学客座教授。1998年、2001年分别于兰州大学物理学院获学士和硕士学位,2004年于英国Salford大学焦耳实验室获博士学位。2005年至2010年间,于英国Sheffield大学工程材料和电子与电器工程系做博士后。20105月被聘为兰州大学物理科学与技术学院萃英特聘教授。主要从事电镜原位科研仪器的研发与应用、磁性材料与器件的电镜原位物性表征等领域研究工作。目前已在Nat.Mater.Nat.Commun.Phys.Rev.Lett.Adv.Mater.等学术刊物上发表SCI论文198篇,被SCI引用超过8400次。获国际、国内授权专利32项。主持或参与纵横向项目50余项,受邀作学术报告100余次、做为大会或分会主席举办国内外学术会议20余次。两次获教育部自然科学技术二等奖。多个研究工作被新闻报道。创建了西北四省电子显微镜学会和兰州大学电镜中心,援建了云南大学电镜中心。
