报告人简介:

John Harvey is Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Davis, Director of the UC Pavement Research Center, and Director of the City and County Pavement Improvement Center. He is past Chair of the Transportation Technology and Policy graduate group. He is Principal Investigator for projects for research, development, and implementation for a wide range of pavement materials, design, asset management, cost, and environmental topics for the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), FHWA, FAA, CalRecycle, the California Air Resources Board, the Transportation Research Board, other state DOTs and industry. He has previously been a researcher and adjunct professor at UC Berkeley and worked in pavement consulting in Nigeria and Texas. He has a BSCE from Oregon State University, and MS and PhD from UC Berkeley. He is the founder of the International Symposia for Life Cycle Assessment of Pavements. He is a professional civil engineer in California.

John Harvey教授是美国加州大学戴维斯分校土木与环境工程系教授,加州大学路面研究中心及城镇路面提升中心主任,加州大学戴维斯分校交通技术与政策研究生分院前任主席。他是加州交通厅、美国联邦公路局、美国联邦航空局、加州资源回收局、加州气候资源委员会、美国交通研究委员会以及其他州交通厅和交通行业开展路面材料研究、设计、资产管理、成本和环境方面项目的首席研究员。Harvey教授曾担任加州大学伯克利分校研究员和兼职教授,并曾在尼日利亚和得克萨斯州从事路面咨询工作。Harvey教授拥有美国俄勒冈州立大学的学士学位及加州大学伯克利分校的硕士和博士学位。他是路面生命周期评价国际研讨会的创始人,也是加利福尼亚州的注册土木工程师。

 

报告内容:

This presentation will discuss motivations to reduce cost and environmental impact in California, and new initiatives (laws, regulations, market forces) and technologies (recycling, replacement of high impact materials) intended to produce pavements that cost the same or less, have the same or less environmental impact and have same or better performance. The presentation will also discuss the need to collect and use better data, and integrate the tools used to support pavement decision making, including tools for asset management, design, life cycle cost, and life cycle assessment.

本报告将讨论在美国加州路面建设中降低成本和环境影响的必要性,探讨持平或降低路面建设成本的同时,使得环境影响相近或更小且路用性能相近或更好的新举措(法律、法规、市场力量)和新技术(再生技术、高环境影响材料替换)。报告还将讨论收集和使用更优路面数据的必要性,并整合用于支持路面决策的工具,包括用于资产管理、设计、全生命周期成本分析和全生命周期评估的技术。
